I can't wait until this show dies! Get someone in front of a camera and see the trainwreck that insues.

I think more people watch this show to see people humilate themselves and watch the rejection than to see the new stars and their great performances.

That's all I watch the show for. I like to see how bad some people are and what they were thinking. Other than that I skip the rest of the season.

I think carrie is the hottest out of all the american idols!!! she's is just HOT!

I really have no idea why fantasia got the idol spot!! her voice is like nails on a blackboard. I like rubens voice...but it's no carrie! but fantasia....she sucks! suckity suck suck suck suck!

True, but Clay the runner up was a lot more successful than Ruben was. The summer of 2004, Ruben was playing at Six Flags while Clay was playing at Madison Square Garden.

I really like Kelly Clarkson, especially the stuff she has done after getting away from the American Idol contract.

I totally agree with that! In fact, I started watching Boston Public when she was on a few episodes.

Half the reason Kelly has had the success she has is due to chucking the American Idol people. Good lord but the AI people are horrid song writers. Bo Bice is a rocker, yet they gave him totally Clay songs, for example. Ruban got stuck with some horrid songs too.

I like Carrie Underwod and Kelly Clarkson the best.

My next favorite would have been the recent Canadian Idol winner (Melissa O'Neil (http://www.melissaoneil.com)).... and not just because she's from Calgary, like me. She's got a great voice. :)

Haven't bothered to watch season 5 of AI yet.

-Kelly Clarkson has had the most talent thus far; Carrie Underwood has a good voice but if she sticks with the country roots then she'll never take off like Kelly did. What I mean is...compare the # of pop music fans around the world vs. the # of country music fans...not saying that country music is something to sneeze at (it's not something I listen to frequently) - but let's call a spade a spade.
-I can't honestly say I've heard more than one song by either Fantasia or Ruben.
-I liked Bo but luckily for him he still has his band to fall back on.

I usually watch the first month or so of the show (with all the horrible people) and then stop watching until the last few shows. The filler in the middle is pretty boring.
