Aren't all shipments by FedEx insured up to $100 by default?

I'm guessing they ship a lot of CD's in one box (i.e. 100 CD's in 1 box would be insured for $1000)

I assume you are making a joke...a good one. But, can you image if all of a sudden the guy who has to do this received something like 5,000 CDs...man that's a lot of work.

He could just have the mp3 already for that CD and just adds it to the queue ready to burn or copy to whatever media you want. Saves on the rip time.

Anyone want to lay odds on how much longer until Sony or the RIAA sues to shut this service down?

It's perfectly legal though. CC would spank the RIAA in court over this and then use the RIAA's history of law suits to slam them with a counter suit for a pattern of abuse (I can't remember what the legal term is). They would beat them down for restriction of trade and then go after the RIAA execcs for Rico violations.
The RIAA won't dare touch this.

I suspect it might be bait.

I keep seeing ads on Craigslist by someone or some company that will take all of your CD's and transfer the music onto a a new Ipod (size dependant upon the size of the cd collection) and then keep the cds as payment.

Sounds like a good idea...but my scam meter always pegs whenever i read the post.

Do you get your CD's back?

You talking to me? If so..no, they keep the CD's. I'm guessing they resell them to cover their costs of the iPods.
