How can I tell what domain controller I used to log on?

There's a catch: I have to figure it out from the client computer.

We've been having some flakey logon issues that I'm trying to narrow down to one DC, but don't have the access needed to look at the DCs every time the problem happens.

Does the system log somewhere what DC it used? I've already googled, searched m$, been through administrative tools, played with Netsh, dsquery, dsget.

(I'm working with Windows XP and Win2K machines.)
