Tablet pcs and performance

I'm considering a tablet pc for work. Any thoughts if performance will be compromised using Sybase and Oracle? Thanks for any input.

a tablet pc is just a pc. don't think of it differently.

Well, a tablet PC is a BASIC PC. Think of it as a low-end laptop - perfect for mail, office apps & portability. Not so hot as a desktop replacement. They'll usually have integrated video & upgrade options will be minimal, but the cost will be higher than a standard laptop with the same specs.

I'd say unless you have have a specific need for the tablet function, you can get a more powerful machine for the same cost with a regular laptop.

If you're just running queries for databases, you should be OK. But if you were thinking of loading up an instance of Oracle on a tablet, you should look at a more powerful machine, IMHO.
