Was an 80gb iPod ever announced?

Was an 80gb iPod ever officially announced by Apple? I can find tons of articles anticipating the announcement of the 80gb iPod following Toshiba's release of their 80gb HDD last year, but I can't find any evidence that the iPod was actually announced. Did anybody hear any news?

Nope. 60's the biggest. I'm guessing we won't see a size bump for at least another 3-6 months, but then again, it IS apple, so who knows.
