View Full Version : FREE Wall Street Journal 10 weeks no strings attached
Let me be the first to thank importedpimp for his post a long time ago in the forums section:

My newspapers have come like clockwork now and I love the wall street journal. You don't need to be an investor to read it... just certain parts. Anyhow I got a letter from the newspaper company saying my subscription is going to run out unless I renew so I decided to search for that post again and hey the link still works. I highly reccomend you try this out if you like a good quality newspaper. Apex: this might even be one of those things you can put in your deals section...
How many of you out there signed up for this a while ago? Please reply :)

This is great, always wanted to try this paper. Thanks
If you signed up for this thing a while back for the only reason because it was free was not a good decision. free does not mean its a bargain to you. I read the paper every single day and I can't stand any of the local news papers (los angeles times, washington post...) The Wall Street Journal is invaluable for those who invest but it is also invaluable for those who want world news without right or left wing influence. I love the fact that the cover page has very short blurbs about the headlines and you can turn to the page that has it if you want to know more. I don't read the whole paper; just what interests me.
Even though the deal looks a little too fake being that it says "congrats you received 150 points..." it is very much valid. I started receiving my paper the beginning of August and I still get it today.
If you don't like the paper and want to discontinue service it is VERY easy... just call 1800JOURNAL and tell them to donate the remainder of your subscription to public school (my friend did this and they are perfectly fine doing this)... Just make sure you have the label off your newspaper handy because it has your account number which is the 2nd line down (its those 2 sets of numbers XXXXXX XXXXXX

Anyone else have problems with this?
I never received it and now theyre trying to bill for 149$
Of course they'll never get it
because you cant squeeze blood from a turnip,
but I wanted to see if they scammed anyone else..
or warn people that may be scammed

I received it for approximately 14 weeks(totally free). They kept trying to persuade me to take a subscription after the 9th week but I wouldn't bite.Quite a deal. I like the paper but its way too expensive!By the way, they hated Gore, so I tend to believe they lean to the right. But that suits me.

they lean WAY to the right
the WSJ is basically the apostle of Laissez-Faire Capitalism
(but that's grist for another forum)

Same problem. I called them 3 times about it. Each time they stated they didn't know what was wrong and promised me it would start on a certain day.
Of course, it never came. I finally told them to cancel because if I can't trust WSJ to get a delivery correct, how can I possibly trust them to give me accurate financial info.
