Talk to their customer support. If they fail to honor their offer, contact the BBB.

File a dispute with your credit card company as well.

Well I just looked at the site and the Treo 700w now shows the adjusted price of $299 after a $150 and $50 rebate. I guess someone at Buy.com goofed and "double posted" the rebates.

BTW... in the "Terms of Use" of Buy.com located here: http://www.buy.com/corp/legal.asp in paragraph 9 it states the following:

9. No Responsibility To Sell Mispriced Products Or Services. Buy.com shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products and/or services listed at an incorrect price, rebate or refund, or containing any other incorrect information or typographical errors. Buy.com shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Buy.com shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.

Also on the rebate terms it states:

$150 Mail-in Voice & Data Bonus Rebate

For a limited time, receive a $150 Voice & Data Rebate when ordering service on-line from this website, purchase the selected equipment and activate a Verizon Voice Plan $39.99 or higher WITH the $44.99 Unlimited Data Feature in order to qualify for this rebate. Offer not valid for pre-paid service or the the Verizon stand alone $39.99 Unlimited Data Plan. Credit approval and one or two year contract required. Early termination fee may apply. To qualify and redeem the rebate, complete the rebate form, provide a copy of your 2nd wireless bill showing payment in full with no previous balance, and agree to maintain service in good standing for a minimum of 181 days in order to avoid an equipment discount charge back of $250. Void where prohibited. One rebate per activated phone as described above. Your rebate check will be mailed within 10-12 weeks from receipt of your rebate submission as described above.

Therefore they must refund you your money immediately and cancel the order.

Sometimes, when it sounds "too good to be true"... it probably is. Good luck trying to force them to make good on the original rebate error.

Yeah, worst case scenario you will call the whole deal off and get your money back. At least you wont get stuck with a $300 bill.

Buy.com? Notorious for nefarious rebate evilness!!
Sorry to hear about it. Definitely report it to your CC company.

honestly, it is probably a better deal to buy the treo from amazon.com where they only have a $150 rebate. Yes, you have to pay $50 more than buy.com's current price, but you're not stuck with an $85 voice/data plan for 2 years. Amazon's rebate only requires a 1 year contract and any plan over $45, if I remember correctly. Just my $0.02 because I've been thinking about picking up a Treo 700w too.

You don't have to have the best. Keeping up wiht the Joneses is self destructive.

its not about having the best, its about the fact that treo has its shortcomings as a basic phone. for gods sake, i had to buy a third party app just to get the volume high enough to hear the person on the other end! But the only reason i'd want the 700p is EVDO. I happen to use the data functions quite a bit and it would be VERY nice to have it go a little faster, not to mention with EVDO people calling won't be routed directly to my voicemail.
