My 90mm stealth fans, both about 2years old, both have developed a wine, like something inside of themhas come off balance. Weird thing is they both seem to have developed it simultaneously, almost exactly two years after I bought them.
Anyone else have this kinda weird thing happen?

Have you tried dusting them off with an air blower?

Yup. I even tried injecting them with silicone. I think they just threw a commutator.

I'll need more details. Is it similar to a nice chianti or is it more like a chardonnay?

dustem off and oil them up. Best you can do.
I think a dust screen would probably lengthen a fans life by a good amount.

I made an adapter to run the fans off of molex 5V, but my case runs too hot (40C at idle) with my exhaust fans running about 800rpms.
So, after a lot of research I ended up picking up an AerogateIII (http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/ald-v03-us.html)at SVC. I'm not a big gadget fan when it comes to my PC, but this will allow me to run my exhaust fans fast enough to be effective, but slow enough not to produce high-pitch noise (hopefully).

I've been running panaflo's in my lian-li case for 3 years now. They're the quiet ones, can't remember what they're called, but i haven't had a problem yet. I've been very happy with them.
what's this 5v, 7v molex mod?
