Pepsi to Launch Ben & Jerry's Milk Shakes

A new line of milkshakes will hit the market this summer thanks to a licensing deal PepsiCo, Inc. has struck with ice-cream maker Ben & Jerry's.

The frozen drinks will arrive just in time to cool off consumers via convenience, gas and grocery stores nationwide. The beverages will be wrapped in "proprietary" glass bottles, said PepsiCo spokesperson Michelle Naughton.

Marketing, pricing and the three flavors for the new beverages have not been decided, she said. The flavors will likely be popular Ben & Jerry's combinations.

The multi-year licensing deal marks the first for Vermont-based Ben & Jerry's Homemade, Inc., PepsiCo said.

The new beverages will expand Pepsi's non-carbonated beverage portfolio including its line of milk-based drinks such as Frappuccinos, Starbuck's Double Shots and Quaker Milk Chillers.

I was actually a taste tester for one of the flavors. They sent me 4 different version of "Cherry Garcia" and I reviewed each one. Hopefully they went with th e one I liked best, because it was pretty darn good. Some of the others were like drinking chalk, though. We'll see.

I did some taste tests for the peanut butter chocolate ones. A little too rich for my taste, but pretty yummy nonetheless. And real healthy too.

I never thought I'd see "Ben & Jerry's" and "healthy" used in the same sentence. At least, not without a prefix attached to "healthy".

Hmmm... Me being the political nerd I am thinks, "Wow, such a conservative company as Pepsi and such a liberal company as B&J's."

Then I think, "Oh yeah, everyone likes money."

This sounds good, I look forward to it.

didn't Ben and Jerry sell out though? I can't remember who bought them.

The Man has many faces.Would that be like the fact that Ann Coulter is a Dead Head, thus ruining the Grateful Dead for lots of otherwise amicable folk out there?

Personally, I prefer Grateful Dawg, with Jerry Garcia doing bluegrass. Haha.

I was being sarcastic, not sure if you were kidding or not... but yeah.
