Hardly state of the art. But not a bad mid-range system for a price which makes it almost disposable. Excellent start to a system for the kids!
nForce2 bare bones system @ TigerDirect (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1784276&Sku=B450-2024%20A)

Any thoughts about the rebates/quality of tiger direct?

Edit...after more research I am declaring this one too good to be true. Aparently, TD has a history of screwing around with their rebates and selling used and refurbed stuff into their barebones comps.
I'm passing on this one.

For what it's worth, I really like Tiger Direct.
There are a lot of people out there that refuse to buy anything from them because they had a lot of problems with their rebates not too long ago.
They have recently switched over to a new rebate system which you fill everything out online. I have purchased 4-5 items over the past year or so from Tiger Direct with rebates varying from 20-100 dollars and have received them all.
However, a TD outlet store is just about two miles from my home so if I had a problem I could just drive up there and give them a piece of my mind.

I'm still waiting for them to acknolodge my rebates from over a year ago, after about 45 telephone calls, 6 faxes and multiple emails I don't think I'll ever buy a single thing from them again....and I'll be sure and let all my friends and family know how I feel about them as well.

In my experience, Tiger Direct is fine about 90% of the time. The problem is if there is a problem with your order, they are a nightmare to deal with. Their customer service is terrible.

I bought an HP all-in-one printer from TigerDirect in January. The rebate was done through OnRebates, and I got the rebate exactly thirty days after I mailed the form. YMMV...

they lost my rebates, only way to explain it. I wasn't able to check the status on the weblink they gave me and I never got any paperwork saying the rebate was denied for any reason.
I kept all the copies of the recipts and warrantys, so I just keep calling up, being put on hold, having people promise me they're going to take care of it, putting me on hold, taking the faxes of all my information again, and then ignoring me for months. Won't respond to voicemails or emails. This has happened with 3 seperate CSR's and I finally got in contact with a manager yesterday who claims he will make sure it gets taken care of, but after I sent the fax I've gotten no confirmation that they even received the fax let alone gotten the ball rolling on this.
I use a standard fax cover sheet and put all my contact information on it along with a line or two asking them to contact me, all the propper paperwork was done and sent in, and is re-sent intact so there's really no excuse for this horrible customer service I've been getting for the past year +
I really hate wasting so much of my time and energy only to be ignored. They act as if they care up until the point of actually getting anything accomplished and then they give up and hide from you
