Is there such a beast? I haven't been able to find anything that meets these requirements.

i highly doubt you will find a printer utilizing a 1GB network card. 20ppm, and 11*17 are not a problem, and most color lasers are postscript capable.
Why do you need gigabit? an 11x17 page will print fine over a 100mbit connection.
What level postscript do you require? What about monthly duty cycle? I warn people to avoid hp color lasers. They have had some bad designs (4500 series put the toner carousel right above the fuser. heat rises, toner fuses with heat. go figure what happened when you printed alot), and in a previous job, I spent many many hours repairing the 4500 and 8500 series printers onsite for HP. I have also see the 2500/2600 series printers die early on.
What about color accuracy? I have been working as a consultant servicing the creative community, and most companies that need color laser buy Xerox due to price, quality, and most importantly color accuracy. I would look at the Phaser 7400

I have a Konica minolta 2430DL for home. Its slower, but has USB 2 and a 10/100 ethernet card, and can handle the toughest of jobs i throw at it. Unfortunately, its not postscript capable, but for $195, it does the job well, its cost effective, networked, and gives inkjets a run for the money in quality. Sure, a high end inkjet will give more photorealistic picture, but I have a dye-sub printer for photos.
OKI printers are also pretty impressive when it comes to photo quality. I would take a trip to your local staples/office max/office depot and check out what they have.

:agree:
Not only that, but the printer will still take some time to process the actual print data, and it's a pretty safe bet that it's not going to process faster whether you have a gigabit card or a 10/100 card; it'll get there faster (obviously) but a higher RAM capacity will do a lot more good than a faster NIC card.

Phasers are good color laser printers; I used several different Phaser models while working at Kinkos...very good printers. Excellent quality, excellent toner high volume yield.
I wonder how the Lexmark/Dell color laser printers are...but I'm not sure if those support Postscript or not. (I hate PCL myself - if/when I get a laser color printer, I'm getting a PS one myself.)

Actually..there are a few that do. The Lexmark c920 among others...
