I just got in on the TigerDirect deal for a 74GB Raptor drive for $99.99 after MIRs and I just got it installed.
Wow... what a difference! Boots up fast as hell and iit does appear that my system overall is reacting faster.
BTW... I'm sure glad I have Norton Ghost 2003/9.0 ... I was able to restore my full PC configuration using a clone of the previous drive in about 20 mins. Gotta love it! :D
For folks who already have this drive... I've heard that it can get pretty hot. Any experience with that? Personally, I'm not taking any chances, so I went to Fry's today and got a Vantec drive cooler for about $29.99 with a crossover fan. Right now the drive is hummin' along at 28 degrees C with the case temp at 28.5 C. Now that's "cool" :thumb:
