Associated Press They're shaken, stirred and just plain angry. And several months late with their response. A group of James Bond fans have launched a Web site, http://www.craignotbond.com, to protest British actor Daniel Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan in the 007 film franchise, and boycott the upcoming Bond movie "Casino Royale."

The fair-haired Craig, whose recent screen credits include "Munich" and "The Jacket," was tapped last October to play the secret-agent icon.

"EON Productions angered fans around the world when they fired Pierce Brosnan at the height of his popularity as Bond," said a statement on the site. "To add insult to injury, EON cast a short, blond, odd-looking Daniel Craig in the role of Bond."

"Craig, described by The New York Times as having a 'pale, flattened face and large, fleshy ears' is a terrible choice for Bond. If EON Productions and Sony Pictures will not accept they've made a big mistake, then Bond fans promise to boycott Casino Royale!"

Calls by The Associated Press to EON Productions and a representative for Craig were not immediately returned on Tuesday.

Brosnan stepped into the shoes of dashing predecessors Sean Connery and Roger Moore to play a blue-eyed, dark-haired Bond in "Tomorrow Never Dies," "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day."

In its statement, the Web site claimed EON did not want to pay for Brosnan or other high-profile actors Hugh Jackman and Clive Owen as replacements.

Most of the stuff I read said Brosnan was really not interested in doing another Bond film. He wanted them to do a little more to develop the character instead of just silly pablum. He was getting kind of old as well.

Eh, I don't like the guy. How can you play Bond and be anti-gun? Natch.

I liked Brosnan...he was pretty good; this new guy is terrible though.

He looks like a crackhead.

I think Colin Farrell (rumored) might have been a better choice, but, who knows. As for Hugh Jackman...I'll always look at him and see "Wolverine" so I'm glad they didn't go with him. :heh:

This was all hashed out in a thread a while back...

The point abour Brosnan not wanting to play the role anymore is true though. I read that many a time since all of this came about. It's too bad really, as I thought he did a great job reprising Bond.

I don't think Jackman or Farrell would have done the role justice either, but from looks and reputation the new guy is a horrible choice.

Way to go and ruin one of the most storied movie franchises ever...

While on the surface this might seem like a bad choice I'm going to try and hold off judgement until I actually see the guy in the role. You never know...

His looks may not be exactly what everyone was hoping for but Craig can act. I really enjoyed Layer Cake, one of his more recent movies, and will go see the new Bond when the movie comes out.

I thought Brosnan did a great job in the role of Bond and was hoping he would stay around for another but it didn't sound like he was that interested in doing another Bond film.

He's got a Steve McQueen look about him on film. That picture of him is terrible.
