How do I get rid of that blinking mailbox thingy in AIM?

In the AIM sys tray icon, theres this little blinking mailbox icon. How do i get rid of it? (besides switching to gaim, trillian or watever)

Click on buddy list, hit F3, pick "Mail" category, turn off alerts.

yea, its stupid, that they tell you that you have mail in your .aim.com account, but then you have to register and stuff to read it.
