View Full Version : Live Scan question

Hi. Not sure if this is the correct thread to post this, so if it isn't, please feel free to move it with my apologies. Anyways, I'm applying for my state license and one of the options that it gives me is to get my fingerprints via live scan. It's supposed to be faster than regular paper and ink fingerprints. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with live scan and whether there are down-sides to live scan (other than the price). If it matters, I have never gotten caught when doing felonies and other than a few speeding tickets (hey, I'm asian, what do you expect) haven't gotten caught doing any misdermenors either. Thanks.

I've had it done like 6 times. costs anywhere from 50-70 bucks and doesn't take very long. You have to make an appointment with the office and sometimes it can take up to 2 weeks just to get in.
Your prints get added to some mega-online-database and then you're completely listed for all to see...
i've had the ink done before and that's my preference, but most places won't let you do that anymore. I'm not sure if they scan your ink prints, but when i did it, i just walked right in and they printed me... 10 bucks for ink.

Cool. Thanks. I looked on the attorney general's website and there are a 20 billion live scan places within driving distance of where I live so I'll try out one of those places tomorrow. I don't mind paying the extra money... gonna take forever for the paperwork to process anyways so the sooner I finish with the application the better as far as I'm concerned.
