Costco (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11095891&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=)just put this tv on sale today, ($500 off). As far as I know, they are going to be the only store to carry it for a while.
NO B&M, online only (mandatory 'white glove' shipping adds another $199)
The TV has been discussed ad nauseum here (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=7249047#post7249047). The specs are pretty impressive. And you can't beat Costco's return policy.

That is correct. That poster was talking out his ass. Not only that, no one's seen it yet. Who knows if it's a piece of crap. I'm familiar with the 37" version and the blacks are too bright. Other than that, it's great for the money.
Read the specs. 1000:1 contrast, 8ms.
Hey and if you buy it and don't like it, just walk it back to costco. They have a solid return policy. In fact, if you buy it and in 5 years you don't like it, you could still probably walk it back and get your money back.

The 37" was a strong choice for the money, I expect the 42" to be as well, but I have yet to see it.
Does it perform as well as the Sharp? I seriously doubt it. However, it's also 40% cheaper.

Exactly. I realized long ago that specs come first, name brand second.
And when buying at Costco, you don't need to worry about it breaking, since their return policy is whenever you want, for whatever reason.

Consider what a lesser warranty would cost at Best buy. $400?

If I was going to stroll into Costco and pick up a TV around this price, I'd pick up the Vizio 50" plasma for $2299.
