I agree with most of these. All are free.

meh.... HijackThis (HJT) I rarely use, mainly because I got the sense in me to quit Internet Explorer near completely and switch to firefox, which is like your surfin bouncher, it says "nah uh, bada BOOM, bada BING bah BAM *****" to malicious scripts.

I use norton 2003 pro as antivirus

Ad Aware - dont like it, comes with spyware. Spybot S&D is good, Spyware blaster - havent spent much time with it. Spyware guard - no clue.

Sygate personal pro is fine

My password manager is my brain, I dont trust computer applications with em.

Firefox as browser.

AIM & MSN

media... ugh, DivX, Windows Media Player, Real Player 10 (I think), quicktime 6, Xvid, Mpeg & AC3 codecs manually downloaded - all free. VLC for DVD's, im not trusting Windows media to finnish the movie...

Graphics editing: MS paint. GIMP is good too, its from linux, nicer than paint but still good for quick & decent things.

I use MS picture fax viewer for viewing, print/scrn for screenshots.

For utilities, I use what comes with the operating system. I see it this way: these are settings, they have variables SOMEWHERE, I just go to where I need to change these variables, and not worry about spyware loaded resource greedy 3rd party programs to configure my stuff. I use RUN, Regedit, MSconfig, properties, control panel, services, and maintnance tools, I defragment with windows, and use disk cleanup monthly to remove un needed junk and restoration points.

Microsoft offers free viewing apps for office programs, however those I suppose are fine. 1st page 2000 ive used for HTML, its like a light, simple, version of front page. Anymore I use CMS like PHP nuke & e107, so I rarely dig into HTML anymore.

Hi Dem0072, and welcome to the forums.

Discussion of software piracy is not an acceptable topic on this board. I have removed portions of your post that allude to piracy & software theft. Please do not let it happen again.

Thank you

Gaim is an awesome instant messaging program..
Firewall - Zone Alarm is Awesome! Sygate is good too
Antivirus - Avast is pretty good
Spyware - Not Free Spy Sweeper WORTH Every Penny! Way better than the free programs.. Finds almost every spyware/adware and constantly monitors the systems. Love it!
Player - VLC Media Player

Google "Ad Aware comes with spyware". There is absolutely no evidence that it comes with spyware, and if it did (which I do not believe), the usage of this piece of software is so widespread that someone would have risen hell a long time ago. In the Internet, nothing is a secret really.

Ad Aware has been around for some time. It remains to be one of the best free antispyware solutions present.
