Been here since 6am yesterday... guess it's only 23 hrs. as of right now, but it will soon be 24+.
On one hand, the OT isn't bad, but I am tired as hell right now. A little insight to my tiredness... I hate coffee. Absolutely despise the taste...
I'm on my 4th cup already this morning. I've never drank 4 cups in a years worth of time... He'll, I don't think I've ever drank 4 cups total in my life.
But, our new server build went surprisingly well. So I guess in the end it was worth it. I should be able to get out of here around 10am hopefully...
Yes, this post is gibberish at this point, but then again, so is my brain right now.

I too am working for a deadline right now. I probably won't be getting any shut-eye until Friday 10 pm-ish. Sucks, but what can I say. I got myself into this knowing what it would be like. At least I have spring break next week. ;)
Good luck. Hurry up and get some sleep dude.

Maybe you don't love coffee because you've never had the joy of a cup from Dunkin Donuts?

i'm not a coffee connoisseur either. i love the smell, but that's about it.

Sounds like the perfect time for Jolt or Mt. Dew. I've NEVER been tired enough to drink even one cup of coffee. It must be the sleep deprivation  that made you go astray.

Forget the coffee - go with the espresso. :P ;) One double shot should last for a while. :)
Are ya still awake?

Forget the coffee... I almost never touch the stuff. I agree with Nickel, love the smell, can't stand the taste. If you wanna stay awake, you can do what they do in animes... stab your thigh with a screwdriver every couple of hours... the pain helps keep your mind focused.
Don't worry, it gets easier with practice to keep thinking when you're tired and sleep deprived. I do 30 hour shifts about once every 4 days during about 3/4 of the months that I have been working. I don't even start getting sleepy now until the drive home.

I ended up working until 2:30PM today... then drove home and crashed about 3:00PM. 33 hrs. straight just being up isn't so bad... its working for all of those that sucked royally.
Now of course since I slept all afternoon I won't be tired come tonight, so tomorrow will be a sleep deprived haze at work as well...

for future reference, snapple elements variety 'rain' is great at keeping you awake...or chewing a very strong mint flavored gum and drinking mello yello over it, the horrid taste will jolt you awake for a while

Or you can also chew a handful of Altoids.
