View Full Version : CD Burning Software
So what burning softare do people use now a days?
I haven't really burned anything in a long time since I started using Daemon Tools a while back but recently I wanted to burn some files and installed Nero Ultra 7 to find that it adds a bunch of crap that I don't want. Even when I deselected everything I got some Nero Scout crap in My Computer and some Nero crap inside iTunes... Anyways, I want somethign simple, like Nero Burning ROM used to be. Just burn ISOs in any format (cue/bin, .iso, ccd, etc) and burn files to a disk.

Won't do direct disc to disc copies, but great other than that, and free...
I also vote for Nero Ultra 6 if you need DL DVD burning. It is on eBay for less than $20...

Nero Ultra 6
:agree:
I hate the new Nero (7)...they started packaging more and more unwanted crap in with it with Ultra 6, but Ultra 6 is the last one I can tolerate. :) You can find older Neros (pre-7) here (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=nero).
I use Nero for most cds, but I use the Elby version of CloneCD for cd copying (I don't recall the version #, but Elby eventually went under and/or was bought out and now CCD is made by another company).
Ya, I guess I will have to go back to Nero6. I just hate having that out of date feeling, which is why I had upgraded to Nero7 in the first place :).

I love Alcohol 120%, but it's not cheap. I use CDRWIN for ISO copies and for individual song compilations.

How is Alcohol 120%, I never tried it out due to its weird ass name. Does it let you burn ISOs and just data cds?

C'mon man, not only is it great, but you get a nice buzz when your cd comes out and you sniff it... oh wait or maybe thats the sharpie i write the names down with.

I haven't tried it for ISOs, so I don't know. And mine is two years old, so I don't know what the improvements are. But the ease of use is great.
Google it to see what the latest version does.

Alcohol is good for getting drunk. Err...
Alcohol 120% is supposedly pretty good...especially at doing raw 1:1 copies (ie copy protected discs).
