I read it and enjoyed it. I'm wondering what others took away from reading it?

I read it a few years ago, but I remember it being good. Disgusting, but good. The girl I was with at the time actually ate fast food, so she was more grossed out than I was...I think she avoided McDonald's for a couple months.

Yeah, I read it a few years ago, too... but it popped back into my head for some reason lately and I wondered what you all thought of it.
Funny, since, I've cut back on the fast food, too. Well, McDonald's, at least. I gathered that the writer sounds like a little bit of a conspiracy theorist... and definitely a socialist.
He did his homework, though. That's for sure.

I thought it was pretty fascinating. I gave up McDonald's around the same time, but that was mostly because I found a used, latex glove in a salad I ordered there. NASTY. Now I don't eat as much fast food though cuz I'm trying to eat healthier.

Yeah, it was fun to hear about the origins of the major chains. How and why they started popping up... particularly in SoCal.

It's a really interesting book. My college has now made it mandatory freshman reading. It really incorporates a lot of different aspects of the food industry, and the explanations of how especially the beef industry works. It made me not want to eat fast food for months. I've only slowly started eating it again. Also, since I work in the food industry I can actually share stories, and refer people to that book.
Has anyone picked up other books by him?? As soon as I finish my current book, i'm picking it up.

I read another book of his. I think it was called Reefer Madness. It wasn't anything original or spectacular. It was just another "Hey, our drug laws in this country are CRAZY, man!" Nothing I haven't heard/read before.
