Anyone know of any good, free software that I can use to recover some deleted files? A friend of mine had his girlfriend delete all of his MP3 collection, and I'd like to get them back. I found a few that look really good, until they mention that there's a 64kb file recovery limit for the demo versions.

Anyone know of any really good free ones?

Does it really have to be free? If you can't find one that is free, I would suggest GetDataBack from Runtime software. I use it all the time and it works so well. Even off damaged drives it can pull data:

http://www.runtime.org/

It costs around $80, but like I said it just works. Recently I recovered 120 gigs of music from a hard drive that was supposedly dead.

Well until you find software to recover the files it highly recommended you don't user the hard drive the mp3's were on.

Wow I'd kill her :bonk:
I know someone else that happened to...friend broke up with the girl, she wiped his HD.

Good lord
I thought my 50gig (128k) collection was impressive...either you've got a lot more songs than me or you're using a higher bitrate. Nice :)

I used R-Studio NTFS to recover 500GB of media files from a crashed RAID 0 array (external USB/FW drive). I was close to just sending the company a wad of cash with a note saying "I LOVE YOU".
