Hawaii: How much better is Maui than the big island?

We're thinking about going to HA in May/April and I can stay on the main island with my Hilton points for free. Is it worth going to Maui? Is it that much better?

we went to kauai and loved it just this pass september . but were into lay back .looking at nature ,waterfalls ,laying on the beach .we were not lookingto do clubing or being around large groups of people .

I think Maui is more visited than the Big Island. So if you'd rather see less people per square mile, the big island might be a better deal. Plus, you can check out an active volcano while you're there :)

Do you mean Oahu or the island of hawaii? The big island is hawaii, the main island is Oahu. They are 2 very different islands.

:agree: I'd pick Hawaii (the Big Island) over Oahu or Maui. We really enjoyed Kauai too. That's my second pick.

I ve been to Oahu, Maui, and the Hawaii. I would pick Hawaii too. But I also want to go to Lanai or Kauai sometime.
