MIAMI BEACH, Florida (AP) -- Young Jeezy was arrested after an alleged shootout in South Beach involving some of his friends, police said.
The 28-year-old rapper, born Jay Jenkins, was charged early Saturday with two counts of carrying a concealed firearm without a permit, police said.
Jenkins was with a group of men involved in a fight around 5:30 a.m. Friday, according to a police report.
When a passer-by filming the fight refused to hand over his video camera, one of the men in the group began shooting, the report stated.
Jenkins and about nine men fled the scene in two sport utility vehicles, police spokesman Robert Hernandez told The Miami Herald.
Officers stopped both vehicles, and found a semiautomatic firearm under Jenkins' seat and another gun near the armrest when they searched his SUV.
Two members of Jenkins' group also were arrested. Tramiel De Juan Golden was charged with strong armed robbery, and Steven Lesly Savain of Kendall was taken into custody on trespassing charges stemming from previous warrant for his arrest.
Young Jeezy's album "Let's Get It" was released in July.

Come on man. If you're an artist with constant radio play and a hit album you don't need to be fighting on the ****ing sidewalk.

Authorities also nabbed the alleged shooter, Kariem Raheem, 28, in the Range Rover and rung him up for discharging a firearm in public and criminal mischief for hitting two cars during the getaway.
Jeezy's attorney, Scott Leemon, could not be reached for comment. However, the legal eagle told MTV News that his client will fight the charges.
"He adamantly denies any weapons recovered were his, and we are confident that he will be vindicated," Leemon said.
Now I guess they have to prove that he was the shooter huh? Currently, I'd say that is doubtful... and if he doesn't have any other prior probatinary actions against him, then this will probably get dropped.
Granted, just being there is not the smartest thing in the world... however from the reports it doesn't look like he was the shooter so how are they gonna pin a gun charge on him versus someone else in the group.

I have a feeling thats going to be his arguement as to why he wasn't the one who did anything wrong.

Ahhh, gotta love rappers.
Odds are Young Jeezy is innocent. I'm sure when jurors get a look at this fine young man, they'll find him innocent of all charges...
Maybe he can strike this pose in court. :hihi:

No, the charges are for possession of a concealed fire arm without a license. He had them under his seat and next to him. Of course, it'll probably get blamed on a member of his entourage as it usually does with these cases.

yes.. but was hit HIS gun in HIS car? Or was everyone in the group charged with that? (of course the article only focuses in on him.. the others in the car are "nobodys" as far as we are concerned.
Sure it was under his seat (i.e. assuming he sat in the front of the vehicle) but that doesn't automatically make it his gun...
Not trying to to say yea or nea if he is guilty... I'm just saying that it being under his seat doesn't prove anything. Now if his prints end up on the gun, well that's another story.

He's got the pose down pat, that's for certain.

He's traveling with his entourage, most likely friends, and they pull him over and find guns right under his seat and next to him. No one claims them, so they take him to jail. Sounds to me like they're his guns. Or, I guess he can have a ****ty ass group of friends.

I'd think that they ALL would've gone to jail in a case like that.
That is why I asked if it was in HIS car.. or was he just a passenger. I'm sure that his legal defense will most likely try to position that those weren't his... unless his prints are found on them and/or he is determined to be the owner of the firearms.
By the story I posted above, someone else was already identified as "the shooter"... so more or less I don't think that part of the case will stick to him.
