Maybe its the stain fighting action of tide. I can't imagine uniforms being so clean and colorful 150 years ago.
BTW, do those guys get paid to play dress up all day?

Don't know what they were really doing. They left not long after I took the picture. That is a Free Mason's logo on the one guy's uniform. Maybe just plain western soldiers, not union soldiers.

Hey, I'm a Southern boy (though by my accent, nobody would ever guess.) I'm also a "Civil War Buff" - one of those things that, I believe, "annoys" someone who used to be a prolific poster here. I just like to read the history, visit battlefields and small towns where battles were fought b/w houses, etc. Interesting stuff. And it's amazing to see the real uniforms. Most of those guys, even the more famous ones, were pretty damn small!
