Ok - long story short - a local printing company is liquidating all of their stuff (they're closing up shop) and I'm interested in buying their used G4 PowerMac. I'm wondering what a good price to bid would be (it's a live auction next Tuesday), and I've looked over eBay and found some similar systems but they pretty much have no bids on them.
Mac people - is there a site out there with reliable info on Mac resale prices?
Specs:
G4 Quicksilver
733 MHz
640 MB RAM (was upgraded from 128...they added a 512)
40g HD (with a 60g Firewire external LaCie drive I may also try to pick up)
8x4x32x burner (no SuperDrive)
(Full base specs are here (http://www.apple-history.com/body.php?page=gallery&model=g4_quicksilver&performa=off&sort=date&order=ASC).)
It has OS 9.2 right now which I'd obviously upgrade to Tiger...probably also spend the extra $50 (give or take) on another 512 PC133 dimm to boost the ram to a gig.
I was thinking of maybe offering up to $200. ?
It (AFAIK) includes keyboard + Kensington optical mouse + box and the restore discs.
I'm basically looking to get a Mac to run OSX + some design apps...probably be used sparingly (50/50 with a PC)...so I don't need bleeding edge speeds (ie G5 dual or anything).
What do you guys think would be a fair price to offer? (ribitch, kimchiwi I know you guys have Macs)
TIA :)
