So I was exiting the freeway on my way home, and I catch up to my car's bigger brother. It's a nice feeling to just pace down the street at a cool 40 with nothing to prove except that I have a nice car. Though his front windows were tinted, I think I noticed a smile. I gave him a big nod of approval, and, after about a mile, we went our separate ways.

The next thing I know, I was at a red light, and wanted to practice launching my car (I am still new to the vehicle and am trying to get a feel for it). I get off the line quick; drop it into second; and stabilize at 40. That is my street speed... no tickets, thank you very much. Then I notice a car speed by me, and then I realized that he thought I was trying to race him. Silly Honda. I can only hope it was the 4-cylinder Accord... otherwise, that would just be sad. :disa: Either way, that makes the second time in less than two weeks that I've noticed a Honda driver trying to race with me. I should start paying closer attention.

It's nice to finally have a legitimately sporty car and not have anything to prove.

My guess is 1990 Dodge Shadow. :heh:

2005 Subaru WRX. Got a great deal on it: slightly used (less than 1K miles on it), still under factory warranty. Hopefully, pictures are to come. I'll try and get before and after pictures too, because less than a week after getting it, some moron swiped my car in the parking lot. No body damage, but I'm going to have to put my artistic talents to the test with a paint repair/cover-up kit.

"Oh, you wouldn't be interested in the Impreza."

"Does it come in black?"

:hihi:

Happens to me all the time. There is this one stretch of street on my morning commute...

I get to 50mph (on Tropicana in LV) as soon as I can so I can shift to 5th and cruise (not cruise control). Frequenly some insecure noob that I (without intention) blew off the line will blast by me after a few seconds doing at least 70 (in a 45).

I drive a civic coupe.

I drive an F150, so I have no problems like these. I used to drive a GTO 'vert for almost 10 years - kids in 5.0s were just learning how to drive fast so I would get the motor rev at almost every light. Funny now.

You would if you were driving the F150 Lightning!
