So I won an Ebay aucition for 4 tickets to opening day down in San Diego for the Giants/Padres game. They are 4 park passes which means you have no seats, standing room only, but can sit in the park past centerfield. The tickets face value are $5 each. My winning bid... $5.50, total. Shipping is $10, but I still make out like a bandit getting 4 tickets below face value for opeing day. I paid for them, but what are the chances that I will receive these tickets? What can I do to ensure that the seller doesn't pull a fast one and what are my options if he does? I really want to go so I don't want to get left in the cold. Any advice would be appreciated.
Here is the auction:

Well, I guess there's nothing you can do at this point to guarantee getting the tiks. If he didn't want to send them to you nothing would be stopping him. But I don't think anybody's gonna scam for such a small amount of money. If something fishy happens it's probably gonna be due to his negligence, but I wouldn't worry too much. The seller has some good feedback. As for getting your money back in the unlikely case of fraud, it depends on how you paid.

Do you have any friends or relatives in the San Diego area? They could arrange to meet the seller and pick up the tickets. I do that a lot with things I buy.

I wouldn't automatically assume the seller will feel sleighted. They're making money off shipping. That said, he/she is mostly a buyer (looking at past feedback), and the most recent feedback is negative...for a baseball ticket (?). You don't stand to lose much here.

Yeah, my family is down there, but I am not going to send my mom to pick up tickets. I paid for shipping, so hoping he will ship them to me. It has been two days since the auction and I haven't heard a word from the seller. I sent this message after winning the auction.
Hello,
I won your auction for the opening day tickets. I have sent the
payment. I believe ebay sends you my address, but just in case,
please send the tickets to:
*edit: my address*
As a long time Padres fan I am looking forward to the game!
Thanks,

I am just thinking that it is a small amount of money risked on my end, but he is losing out in that these tickets are going for about $15-20 apiece. So he is missing out on some profit by following through and selling me the tickets. We will see. I paid with Paypal, so hopefully I can get my money back if decides not to follow through.

Seller's gonna be losing a lot more once you leave him some nasty feedback. If the seller has any foresight she will hopefully follow through. I hope it works out.

So it looks like the seller came through! He sent an email today stating that he had sent the tickets via certified mail with a tracking number. I should have them in 1-3 days. Guess I need to learn to trust people on ebay...

So he came through, big time! Got the tickets today and he even included a season schedule. Very cool! Great experience and left him some postitive feedback. Go Padres!
