I'm in the market for a DVD burner. My main purpose I guess is to make back up copies of my hard drive(ghost images) and data(music, photos etc). I plan to stick it in an external enclosure I already own so I'll be looking for an internal one. I like the lightscribe feature but hear it takes a good 30 minutes versus the NEC one called labelscrine or something. Dual-layer is not required but seems very common. I've seen some at newegg and zipzoomfly for about under 50 bucks but I'm not sure what brands to avoid or highly recommended.
Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

I've been using a NEC (mine's a 3520, but there are newer versions) for quite a while and been very happy with it. You can usually find them for around $40 at Newegg.

LiteOn :thumb:
Also very cheap in cost yet high in quality
$40-$50 safe bet - check NewEgg
I've owned 3 LiteOne drives now over a 6 year span (both dvd-/+r/rw and cdr/rw) and never once had a coaster.
edit Found one at Computer Geeks
$41.50
