So I bought a package from ebay from a good seller.. in england of course..

Anybody know what the average turn-around time for a package shipped standard mail (RoyalAir Mail or something) from England to the midwest, USA?

my package was 'shipped' last monday, and it's pretty important that I get it within the next week..

Should I be concerned if it doesnt get here by this wednesday?

thanks,

~Kyle

I bought a book from someone in the UK and he shipped it royal mail. It took three weeks to get here. If I were you I would expect a long wait if he went with a low cost shipping option.

Not sure if it helps, but for going the other way...from here to there, the US Post Office web site says air post is 4-7 days. I've shipped many items to England and they have taken less than a week.

Man Oh Man... dont get me wrong.. I wouldnt have ever chosen to use a 'foreign' carrier, I just had no other options with the person.

3 weeks?!? holy cow, I could walk/swim there and back in 3 weeks!
that's just a god aweful mail delivery system.

Yeah, it was so bad that the guy refunded my paypal account then I got the item like three days later.

Maybe "royal mail" is their term for "by boat."

Maybe you mean "by boat with huge whole in it's side, and no rudder"

No, I just think they forget to raise the anchor before they get under way. :)

And they go the other way around the globe.

No, that is just a "short cut". :)

I think it really varies. I've had a friend in London ship me something over mail that took five days, and one time it took three weeks. And he sent it first class - whatever their standard mail method is - both times.

the delay doesn't come from the mail delivery system, usually. It most often comes from customs.
