So my late-Spring / early-Summer plans are starting to come together . . .

April 14-17: Istanbul

April 28-30: Amsterdam for Queens Day . . . one of my best friends from NYC will be coming out to meet some of her friends there, and I got lucky finding a hotel room at a hotel I've been interested in staying . . . the Lloyd Hotel . . . http://travel2.nytimes.com/2005/02/20/travel/20check.html?ex=1143522000&en=2233db2517ae119a&ei=5070

I forget where/when I first read about it, but I was thinking it would be cool to stay there whenever I went to A-Dam . . . was difficult finding a room for Queens Day, but they happen to have one . . . so it made for a good excuse to splurge a bit.

May 10-14: Vienna and Bratislava . . . going to Vienna for meetings the 10th & 11th . . . figure I'll hang out another day and then hop a boat down the Danube to Bratislava for a couple days.

May 25 - June 5 Still have to figure this one out, but I'm hoping to take a vacation during that time. There are 2 German holidays during that time, so I can minimize the number of vacation days I use.

Then, starting June 9 there is the World Cup, and Germany will be hopping . . . still trying to get tix . . . hopefully SOMETHING will work out!

Of course, I'll also have a TON of work during this period, but whatever . . . it'll all work out somehow ;) . . . and, aside from the vacation the 25th - 5th, I'll only be using 1 total vacation day for the 3 other trips!

Prices for World Cup tix are all over the place on ebay...some bids sure are high.

I'm not going to trust ebay for the tix . . . transfering World Cup ticket ownership is tricky . . .

However, they are still selling fresh allotments, but you have to be lucky with your timing to get them as they become available. Also, my client is a World Cup sponsor, so I'm hoping maybe something can come from that . . . though highly unlikely. Nonetheless, I'm putting out feelers all the time. :)

WooooHooooo . . . got myself a couple pairs of World Cup tix at face value!

Not the most exciting games, but the timing and locations are great . . .

Serbia vs. Cote d'Ivoire on June 21 in Munich (Wednesday)
Ukraine vs. Tunisia on June 23 in Berlin (Friday)

Will take the week off from work and head down to Munich for a few days, then after the game fly to Berlin and spend the weekend there while taking in a Friday night game!

I'm still hoping to get tix to a game or two in Frankfurt and hopefully a US game somewhere . . .

Plus, of course, any R16/R8/semi/final games . . . but I'm not going to hold my breath on those

So happy, all plans have come together!

April 14-17: Was in Istanbul . . . beautiful

Didn't end up going anywhere April 28-30 - had to eat the cost of a plane ticket to Brussels, but oh well . . . was the right decision

May 10-15: Was in Vienna & Bratislava, tons of fun!

Now, for the fun to come!

May 25-28: Helsinki, Finland - anyone been there? Suggestions?

June 1-5: London - have to go for a meeting on the 1st, and will stick around for a long weekend

June 12: USA vs. Czech Republic game in Giesenkirchen
June 13: Korea vs. Togo game in Frankfurt
June 15: One of my best friends from the US comes out to Frankfurt
June 16-25: We'll travel around Germany (and possibly hop across borders a couple times) as we hit up Cup games in Munich and Berlin

I have to head back to work on the 26th, but my friend will be staying around Europe until July 17th, I think . . . so on weekends, I may try to hop over to wherever he is.

Can't wait! I only have 11 working days between now and June 26th! I need a happy, goofy dance icon :woohoo: . . . I guess that will have to do!

However, my bank account and credit cards really don't like me right now . . . oh well :D

If you're carrying a balance, your credit card company loves you.
