And I'm surprisingly pleased... I just realized why I bought one. The high definition graphics and audio that come with each game are really a major plus. This is how gaming should be... widescreen and surround sound! I've been playing Blazing Angels for the past hour, and while the game itself pretty much sucks, the graphics are good and the audio is fantastic.
I'm a little peeved that you can't do more than one thing at a time in the XBOX Dashboard/marketplace/etc, but eh, 'tis a minor gripe. That and some of the outrageous prices they want to download arcade games... $12-15 for bankshot billiards? C'mon, it's pool!!!
I do like downloading movie trailers though... I'm big into those for whatever reason.. love shows like In Theaters and Trailers on INHD and stuff.
And downloading game demos... neat idea. Now I can get the demo and even see if I want to bother gamefly'ing it.

They are working on it and it should be fixed soon. From a interview on shacknews.
Shack: How will we be seeing the Dashboard improve on the 360?
Scott Henson: I don't think we've given an official date yet, but in the not so distant future you will see another update that will improve a lot of how stuff is sorted and shown in the Marketplace, just to make it more efficient. We're going to do a lot of nip and tuck cleanup work. One of the biggest things is the ability to download things in the background.
Shack: Thank you!
Scott Henson: Yeah, as an avid Marketplace downloader I can say hallelujah! I don't know what the official PR line is on the availability, but it's not that far away.

NP, a lot of people have been bitching about it. I can't wait for it either.

Yeah, no background downloading was my first complaint too. On the upside, at least M$ has insane bandwidth, so if your connection is good you can snag the 500-800 meg demos in about 10 minutes. But that is 10 minutes that could've been spent doing anything else.

I usually have a great connection to MS, but my 360 downloads at a rather slow rate... Took me maybe 10 minutes to get a 100mb video last night.

I have geometry wars... and frankly, I suck at it. It took me a week to get to 100,000 pts without dying. My highest score is only like 160k, but, i only play for 10-15 minutes at a time maybe two or three times a week.
I have great hand-eye coordination, but for some reason, I just can't get the knack of this game. It's fun and the music is cool, but I just can't stay alive!

Hey ISS -
My best score kind of plateaued around 750,000 in Geometry Wars, but one of my friends who recently moved in with his fiancee (so he is required to spend a lot of time at home...and spends a lot of that time in front of his 360) has put up numerous scores over a million and has now broken 2.5 million. I think that is kind of sick...but still fun to watch. It is so easy to tune out while watching someone play that game for half an hour. Anyway, glad you enjoy the game...and you'll definitely get better with time. The dual-stick controls are counter-intuitive at first, but you get used to it.
