That eagle picture is GORGEOUS! Nice! :)
Its a Vulture....a turkey vulture to be exact....but still a bird of prey. :hihi:
Looks like it was probably a fun trip...from the jeep, I assume you didnt bring kayaks and stay on any islands.

Yup! A turkey vulture.
As for Why and When?
It was a combo 4wd/camping expedition vacation.
We crossed over from Yuma, AZ via Highway 95.
Took Mexican highway 2 to 15 down to Bahia De Kino (about 550 miles south of the US border).
From there, we pretty much followed the coast up along the Gulf of California (aka Sea of Cortez).
Most of the roads were of the semi to poorly graded dirt variety.
In some instances, there weren't any roads at all as we did a few 10-20+ mile beach runs.
It really was an excellent time and I'd recommend people give Mexico a chance.
I took this chartered trip through http://www.4westernadventures.com
I've gone on a few of the trips listed here and they've all been a blast.
The only thing I would mention is that these Mexico trips tend to be more scenic than hardcore 4 wheeling.
But from my pictures, you should be able to tell it's still worth every penny.
Oh..and my new avatar was from a billboard I saw as I was crossing back over the border. :heh:

How was the water (ocean)? Fishing? Shells? We live on the Florida coast and I always like going to other beaches. Very serene photos.
