The original lighthouse. It was built too high on the hill to be effective when the fog rolls in so they built a newer one. This one dates to about 1865. I was there about a month or so but there was scaffolding around it while they cleaned and repaired it.

There were a few people around in period clothing to look the part and answer people's questions. The light keeper, seen here, has an accurate uniform down to the insignia and buttons which have the logo of the lighthouse association.
