I believe it's technically Kingdom Hearts III.
..or so my girlfriend corrected me last night
But yes, it's called KH2 lol.
And I'm totally gonna get it as soon as it comes out...
And... I just noticed you said 'yet', I'd better check on the release date..
Well I'll be damned, it shipped supposedly day before yesterday. wOOt!
Looks like I'm off to put myself in some more debt :)
I'll have to let you know how it is, I'm sure it'll be amazing like it's predecessors.

I never like the premise of the first one, but the way they've expanded on the universe and the rave reviews I've heard about both of them, I wouldn't be surprised if I started playing it.

First one is a lot of fun. I completed it on normal difficulty last week. I'll get KH2 eventually...too much to do now

So I gave in yesterday and bought it w/ my gf. And of course, by 'I' buying it, I mean she bought it lol.
Now lets see if we have the self-control to wait out the next month and get the semester done without comitting academic suicide and getting hardcore addicted to such a great game.
On another note, I noticed Samurai Warrior 2 was out.. I guess I wasnt aware that they were planning on making a second one. Great news lol!
I'd totally recommend Samurai Warrior 1 if you want a 'semi' realistic sword-fighting game. It's a definite classic that I think everyone should play at least once. Good times!

They made Kingdom Hearts 1 for ps2, then another one for gameboy advanced, cannot recall the name of it offhand, then now they're putting out kingdom hearts 2 for ps2.
So basically there are 3 KH's total, but only 2 for the ps2.. story lines are all different obviously.
Oh yeah, I'm not sure which one came out first.. the ps2 KH1 or the gameboy advanced one, someone help me out on that one?

there was:
1st: Kingdom hearts I for PS2 - sora vs. the heartless
2nd: Kingdom hearts: Chain of Memories for gameboy advanced - i started this but lost interest
3rd: Kingdom hearts II for PS2 - sora vs. ???
either way, the storylines are all different but are in relation to each other...the story has progressed from KH1 to KH:COM to KH2...i'm pretty sure KH:COM is supposed to bridge the two PS2 games but i never got around to completing it so i can't say

I've been thinking of getting this, but what's the battle system like? Is the system like the Final Fantasies or the Dyansty Warriors?

You have full control over your character's attacks, so it is more simmilar to dynasty warrior than to final fantasy...
