Aww... guess that means that folks have to take their "political agendas" elsewhere huh?
Oh well... good riddance. Politics suck anyways.

I went up to Mammoth in Mammoth Lakes, CA. it's in the Sierra's about 30-40 miles from Yosemite. Great place to ski btw.
They just got snow 2 days before we(dad, youngest brother, and I/ other brother is in France against my boycotting) went up, it was really unbelievable skiing, fresh powder, not many people at all(weird because of spring break). Conditions were nice about 35-40 degrees partially sunny. Although, in the afternoon the wind started to pick up. Good trip overall and the best ski conditions i've had in 5 years.
btw mammoth usually has snow and is ski-able till June.

if you want to call open discourse of topics relevant to this country "political agendas" that's ok by me.
but the reason there is such a disconnect between politicians and the people who's pleasure they serve at is because of attitudes like yours.

When personal opinions degrade into personal attacks... then your "open discourse" crosses the line in my opinion.
My attititude towards politics and their discussion reflects the snobbish behavior of some people's attitudes (including yours) which is "holier than thou" and such... and the lack of understanding from someone else's perspective. You could "agree to disagree" and leave it at that.. but no, it usually gets ugly from there.
People who really get wrapped up in politics usually have an agenda of their own... and I just don't personally care for most of those agendas. So I say.. "whatever" on that.
And now Apex has drawn that line in the sand.

I know I'll miss the forum. When things weren't out of hand, it was a cool place to discuss current events. I know I learned a lot there. Sure, people got rude or arrogant or offended or whatever, but I'll still miss it. Though I do understand why Apex closed it. It's been threatened many times.
Hopefully once things cool down it may be reopened? I dunno. As I've always said, even the most vehement opponents on the Poli forum would likely get along wonderfully IRL. If only people could convey their ideas through text without being rude or offensive, or if people weren't so easily offended by something that the author didn't intend. I know I'd like to meet a lot of the guys and girls that posted there frequently, especially those with whom I disagree.

Maybe Bush can be put in the "Suckage / Not Suckage" forum.
"Bush sucks!"
"Bush is great".
And I will gracefully agree to disagree with myself. :heh:

Sounds like a great way to get the S/NS forum closed too. :nono:
There are plenty of places other than G|A? to talk politics.

Some of us restrict our forum nerdery to G|A and G|A alone.
The closing of pol wasn't anyone's fault. It was simply too much work. Frankly, no one wants to do the mod work there LONG TERM. It's more than 95% of the complaints and reported posts, more than 90% of the mod work, yet contributes next to nothing positive to the site or community.
Then again, it's Clutchy's fault for going skiing and not inviting me.

bummer about the mod work, I know i've personally contributed to their angst... and for that i'm sorry.
