Matisyahu fan here too. :) all his shows here in the philly area are always sold out.

he has his critics, accusing him of using reggae for his own political/religious purposes. Others say he uses tha hasidic reggae angle a bit too much, making his shows too "gimmicky", or simply too "schticky".

which is stupid cuz thats what every performer does anyway, just depends on teh degree that they do it.

didnt Bob Marley use reggae as a vehicle to further his Rastafarian beliefs? Sure it originated in Jamaica, but music is universal - i dont know why critics love to pigeonhole artists and even music itself.
sometimes i dont even know why i even read critics' reviews - theyre not musicians to begin with.

Haha.. But he stopped Stage Diving now, for fear of accidentally getting touched by a Woman. Which is against his "beliefs" ...
