Is $480 for the Japanese Playstation 2 too much to pay? I heard there are gonna be shortages in the US, so I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy the Japanese version. Thanks.

That the PS2 Japanese version used different power and if incorrectly plugged you risked burning it out. I heard they sold adaptors, but were crappy. Also 480 is high, the US is 300, wait till January or even March when I am positive price will drop and will be around, especially if the game cube is gonna debut.

Those prices for the US machine will DEFINATELY drop. Game Cube, and X-Box will be competing, prices will fight.
