Well the 'Bird is on the choppin' block... but not yet gone.

I will probably list it for sale... however if it doesn't sell, I'll probably give it to my nephew down in Florida. (He's been drooling over it for years... and now he's like 15 and "this close" to getting his license.)

Keeping it in the family sounds really good.. but getting some decent money for it sounds good too. :D :kaching:

So which game show did you end up winning? :)

Is it the AWD?

"Let's make a deal"... I get the Heritage and basically cut back on other expenses to pay for it.

And no.. it's RWD. Turns out... the Heritage only comes in RWD, the 300C Touring comes in AWD.

That's one sweet ride. Gonna get some dubs?
I dunno... I looked at brake kits for the 300c and right now... I don't have $5K to spend on "big brakes".

Honestly, I may have to leave mods alone for a bit... until my wallet can recover somwhat. :heh:

Honestly, it's already way better than the truck.

I've gone like 30 miles and the gas needle is still on the "F"... in the truck it would be halfway between the 3/4 and "F" mark by now.

So aside from the color, what makes this model different than the other 300C's?
nevermind..just read the other thread.

What was the dealer markup on this bad boy? Did you manage to get it for MSRP?
The chrysler stealership near my house automatically marks up all SRT rides 20k!! That's not saying they actually get that for them. I know this isn't an SRT model, but i'm guessing they get some sort of premium.

So aside from the color, what makes this model different than the other 300C's?
Much of the "optional" equipment on other 300Cs is standard on this one.

Pretty much you get all of the standard features of a 300C plus the following:

Chrysler-exclusive SmartBeam™ HID headlamps and washers

Matching grille and liftgate-mounted spoiler

Unique Heritage-style badging on chromed bodyside moldings and front seatback insets

Exclusive Inferno Red Crystal Pearl exterior color†

Unique Smoke Translucent finish on upper steering wheel and door pull handles

Performance steering gear and shift schedule calibration on five-speed AutoStick® transmission

Exclusive new 18-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels with P225/60R18 Touring tires

368 watt 7-speaker Boston Acoustics® sound system with subwoofer

Royale Luxury leather-trimmed performance front seats in Light Graystone

Special all-chrome grille

Other features include: performance exhaust, trunklid spoiler, AM/FM cassette/CD/6-disc radio, and power-adjustable pedals with memory

And this:

Well... let's just say that I got a "special hookup" from a friend that helped me get into this vehicle for much less than what most folks will pay for it. :D

But normally, they are selling right at M.S.R.P. with $1,000 rebate from Chrysler financial if you qualify. I'm sure that a few dealers will try to mark them up some, but honestly, I don't think that most folks have caught on to it yet.

I've only seen one other Heritage on the street here in Indy (about 2 weeks ago) so they are pretty rare. I've heard that they are only gonna make about 5,000 of these bad boys.

Congrats DF! You got what you wanted. So the question is what have you sacrificed?

We know that you are now using your archairc palm pilot as a computer as you sold your main system. You dusted off the 8-track and sold all your cd's (after legally backing them up). You rented out pimptopia for weekend parties.....only to find out that a bunch of frat boys wanted to use the name.
And who can forget, you sold your purple velvet and mink cape and your pimp stick.

So other than those things, what else did you give up.

I may have a few "tricks" planned... but right now, my budget won't allow for any. :heh:

I'm just happy havin' the car for now... and next up will be cannibalizing some of the stereo parts from the Nas-T Bird to give the 300 some more kick in the ass action. (The Bose stereo is good.. but it still don't got that drop and knock that the Bird has. :heh: )

Yeah.. sunroof bubbles are one of those things that either you like em.. or you don't.

Personally, I do like them... plus they REALLY do help cut down the wind noise when I have the roof open. Every vehicle I have ever owned has had one on it... so no reason to stop now. :D

Besides... after awhile.. you hardly even notice it.

Honestly, all I used today was the "Mr. Clean Auto Dry" car washing system and water...

I haven't waxed it... or did anything else to it.

speedracer120

I'm thinking about the side deflectors or whatever you call it for the windows so I can cruise at high speed and vent at high speeds or just vent when it's raining. But I'm worried it'll mess up the window tracks. I've had bad luck with them on all Hondas I've had.

If you go that route... be sure to get the "good ones" like the WeatherTech's... I for one will NEVER use another "VentVisor" brand on my vehicle ever again. :2far:

i'm in indy this week and saw a 300 dub edition parked downtown and couldn't remember what color yours was. looked around for a large black man but didn't see one. :wavey:

after looking at this thread, i don't think it was yours.

DarkFury
06-15-2011, 05:15 AM
I seriously doubt it was me. I don't really go near downtown much. That more of a "tourist trap" than anything else.

Besides those pics above is how the car looked when I first bought it. I've highly modified it now, so I doesn't look anything like that anymore. Also, if you had seen "MY" 300... trust me, it stands out as pretty unique, even amongst other red 300s (considering that it was a 2006 Limited Edition "Heritage"). I've seen some 300s that looked close to mine, but none were exactly alike.

I'm having all kinds of problems fighting off the urge to customize, customize, and customize more with my truck.

Was looking at chrome fender accents and the window shields this weekend. I put a tonneau cover on, some chrome nerf bars, and wouldn't mind a bug deflector too. I'm just scared this isn't going to stop. :)

DarkFury
06-20-2011, 11:51 AM
Think about it this way...

If you find the car/truck you love, all this "extra stuff" is just "jewelry" to make her look good as you spend your time together.

I wouldn't recommend doing all that stuff to a vehicle that you would trade in every 3 years... or something leased. There won't be much payback on it, however if it makes you feel good then go for it! Honestly, I love driving my car everyday (except for when it is snowing out and I have to drive my truck instead).

You guys should see the stuff I've done with my motorcycle. ;)
