Damn stupid bastards!

So i'm driving to work on the 710 today and this girl in a Catera comes flying by me in the slow lane at about 90. She's tailing everyone and weaving in and out of traffic. She gets behind a Blazer in the middle lane and tails him, she then shoots to the slow lane to pass him, and he weaves to freak her out, she avoids, tries to do it back to him, loses control, and begins to spin out across the freeway. As I see this happening, I turn on my hazzard lights, and start braking since I don't think I can out accelerate a spinning car going parrallel to me. She spins about 4 times, crosses all 4 lanes, and ends up stopped facing sideways about 15 feet in front of me.

The Blazer almost lost control when he did it, I saw his start to pitch to the right, and after all of this he took off. To her credit, she didn't freak out and had good control of the car.

After she rights herself, i'm back up to 70, and she goes flying by me in the slow lane again probably about 80.

So to both of them I say  :bash: :johnwoo2: :nono:

Glad you were able to avoid those idiots and come out of this OK.

Sad to say that this sounds like a typical commute on LA Freeways. Freaks!

I'm gonna tangent off for a sec:
I was driving back from LA to SF on highway 5. I had been going about 110-120mph for a couple hours straight, so I had totally lost all sense of how fast I was going. I started to veer off an exit to get gas. It felt like I had really slowed down, but in fact I was still going about 80.

I oversteered and spun off a freeway. Fortunately there was nobody around me. Talk about an out of body experience. I was totally calm and experiencing the whole thing in slow motion. I was able to calmly tell myself to try different things to correct the spinning. a couple seconds later when I finally stopped on a gravel yeard about 60 feet off the freeway, I realized I had squeezed right through two telephone poles standing narrowly along the exit.

ok back to the topic.

Veering off the topic again, but I promise to swerve back into after this...

Yike ArkiStan! Where the heck could you drive at "110-120mph for a couple hours straight" without getting tagged by the Man??? Even remote stretches of Interstate seem to be patrolled.

Ahhh, back on topic.

Just let them kill themselves. This is why I wish they had EMP pulse guns that people could carry in their cars and fire at the cars of bad drivers....thus paralyzing the idiot's vehicle as the safe drivers pass on by.

I've those death shudders more than a couple of times. First three times, I was able to recover. Twice from idiot drivers, and once when I tried to exact revenge and ended up shaking across two lanes, and the last time when another idiot cut me off and spun me across all lanes of traffic on the 605 and thus totalling my poor Civic.

I saw a civic with a young girl cut through two lanes in heavy traffic that was stop and go. She got into a shouting match with a car that has an older lady she cut off. The older lady started screaming at her and got out of the car. So the younger girl rolled up her windows. When the older lady got back in her car, the younger lady pulled up and threw 'The Club' at her car and the older lady got out again and picked it up and chased the other car. This young girl did the whole stop and go thing instead of just peeling out on the shoulder that she was on anyways. She stopped long enough for me to get her license and call the police and a guy on a motorcycle followed her.

seeing as how my G/F is a cop i cant do a whole lot... i hate idiots... especially ones that run up my ass in the SLOW lane when theres a lane open next to me....

a Mustang did it to me once... my SOP is to slow down gradually by letting of the gass a little at a time... the closer they tail, the slower i go.... so the idiot finally goes around to the other lane and gets parallel with my car. This is where hes acting pissed and i'm looking over with whatever calm and goofy grin i can muster. This pisses him off more (remember i was in the SLOW lane) to the point that he swerves at me. My reaction is to calmly drive 1" away from my lane line and continue giving him the goovy grin.

Hes lucky he didnt hit me by swerving over into my lane... My G/F was in teh car at the time, and i think that would have been considered assault on a police officer. He woulda been in BIG DooDoo.

The key here is the calm and goofy grin. Their goal is to exact revenge and show you how badass they are and piss you off... if all they get is a goofy grin, it completely defeats their actions and just flusters them more lol. I've even been known to blow a kiss or two to someone who is EXTRA irritated. I try to make sure whatever the situation is wasnt my fault first though. If it was, i always give a courtsey wave and a nod.

Indeed, when it's their fault and there's no doubt about it, I give them the smile, nod, wave, and thumbs up. It's fun making idiot drivers drive off sheepishly.

On the other hand, if you did the whole "slow thing" in the fast lanes? Ugh. I can't stand people who think it's their duty to slow me down when I'm driving.

:stupid:

It's the damn fast lane. Use it for passing people only! There should be a sign on the interstate that says as much every 10 miles or so. Blocking the left lane creates a hazard to all involved. Too dangerous to pass on right, too dangerous to drive parallel, and way too dangerous if the car behind you is speeding for a reason (a legit emergency). Adopt Germany's highway laws. Sure, we'd all love the speeds, but mainly the ones like Der Left Lane is For Passing Only!
