Just got my new entertainment center from furniture.com (after 7 months) and would like a slimmer speaker than my current big fat stereo speakers standing on the side of it. Does anyone know where to get good quality home audio speakers for cheap? I'm not much of a stereo equip pro. Looked at Tweeter and saw floor standing models by Boston Accoustics running anywhere between 300/pr and 1600/pr. They also have another brand Klisch? Does anyone know anything about these brands or any suggestions of where else or what else to look at?

This is a waaaaay to braod question you asked. Exactly how much are you willing to spend? And what kind of set-up are you looking into? There is 4.1, 5.1, 6.1, and many more variations. Plus what equipment do you have currently? If you get speakers that are too powerfull for your reciever then things can go bad.

Boston Accoustics are decent. I personally like Klipsch and Infinity better. It's somewhat has to do with quality/value and a lot with personal taste and useage. I personally would look into JBL's over BA's, they have really up'ed the ante in quality.

Cambridge Soundworks is having a great sale, http://www.hifi.com/consumer/hifi/default.asp?mainpage=clearance_onsale&leftnavsec=2&cattab=2 I have the Ensemble speakers with duel subwoofers for a few years, best speakers for the money, they are small satellite systms. That means there are small speakers with subwoofers that are seperate and the subwoofers can be placed anywhere and out of site ie. under a table, behind curtains ect. Spend at least $250 and check audiophile reviews, they get glowing reviews. I think these are far superior to the much more expensive Bose cube speakers.
