Sounds too good to be true! I called the contact number and it sounds like an answering machine. Im thinking that this is an in-house/startup business and it's so new and hasn't gotten any exposure that people are reluctant to commit. The makeup of the site is also very amateurish. Just my quick thoughts on the matter... I hope that this deal is legitimate because this is a great deal. $8.33 a month for diapers for one year is a great deal. Please post any communications about http://www.diapersforfree.com on here please.

My wife wants to do this deal in the worst way, but she's afraid it's not legit. Has anyone who signed up heard anything yet?

I signed up for this a few days ago. Yesterday, I received the confirmation email with my first delivery date and payment information. You can pay either by check or credit card. I may use credit card so there is some degree of fraud protection.

I would very much like to join this deal but am skeptical. I did receive the confirmation email not only once but twice. There are a couple of things that seem fishy...
1. Payme.com wont refund back your money if there was fraud involved..below is a sample of their Terms and Conditions.
"If you are a Payor, you agree that all payments initiated by you are final and not reversible."
https://www.payme.com/public/services_terms_none.html
What this means is...if you make a payment thru payme.com and receive no product in exchange. Your out of luck!!!!
2. The domain is registered to a hotmail account.
3. Above all...Sounds too good to be true!! It's one of those feelings you get in your stomach when you know this is something to hold off on.
I really hope that this site is legitimate because diapers are our biggest expense. I dont want to sound like a pessimist for anyone who reads this but I just want to throw out my opinion on this board.

This sounds sort of like the PayPal thing people were complaining about a few months ago. Use an AMEX or something cool like that so you can screw them and their no fraud protection policey if you get screwed.

You must be changing them too often. When the package says "16-28 lbs", they will actually hold that much. :)
I don't like web sites that make these big claims of something-for-nothing and don't tell us how they can do it. Are we supposed to think this is run by some benevolent millionaire who loves kids? Bull. If they have a business model that will allow them to be profitable shipping $500 worth of diapers for $99.95, then at least give us a clue how it works so we can belive it.
I smell a scam.

Ya but, they say in the ad that the shipment is only for 2 bundles of huggies for $20. That is about what they cost in the store, and besides that. who uses huggies anyway. Pampers rules!
Sandman
09-17-2000, 11:01 AM
The cheapest I have seen ONE huggies megapack was $16.99 Bandito what store have you seen 2 megapacks for $20???
Please let me know, that is a bargain in itself...
Everyone I knows uses Huggies... The infant diapers aren't yellow on the inside like pampers so you can tell when the diapers are wet, the velcro doesn't stick to your kids squirming legs, plus they don't have that shifty plastic noise when your kids move... But it comes down to personal preference...

You must not have kids, Bandito! The deal I am reffering to is $99.95 for one year of diapers. Roughly $8.33 a month at 2 deliveries a month!!! I dont think I will get too much of a reply about this offer. Most of the people who post on this board don't have kids.

This is a fantastic deal, if it is not a scam. Generic diapers can be bought for about $3.50 for a convenience pack. A mega pack is equal to 4 convenience packs, so do the math: 3.50 x 4 x 24 = $336. If you pay sales tax in your state (none on diapers where I live), you save even more.
kb0wwp - the weight range is for the child's weight. I'd hate to pick up a diaper with 28 lbs absorbed in it. That is about 3-1/2 gallons. Can you imagine how many days it would take a 2 year old to generate that much? Imagine how nice that diaper will smell.

I emailed these people last week from the contact info provided by the website and have gotten no reply back. Has anyone gotten any feedback at all?
Bandito
09-18-2000, 05:55 PM
OK. As far as assuming I don't have kids, think again. http://www.babyhayes.com if that helps answer that question.
The thing I don't get is, yes it is $99 for a year--$8.33 month blah blah blah... but it clearly states that is for 2 mega packs. That is right about what our 1 baby uses in a month. Our baby is 5 months old, but an over-achiever at the healthy weight of 22lbs so she has a healthy appetite for eating, and well... er.. using diapers.
And we have been able to get on a mailing list that gives us the $2 off coupons (for those of you that have babies you know what I am talking about) and we use them at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Sam's club. Everybody seems to have their prices +/- a few bucks and when diapers go on sale around here (Detroit) I can get a 100 count (20lb baby size) for around $11. So ya, maybe not 2 mega packs for $20, but really $22+tax. Maybe that deal is worth looking into.
If Maggie says it is ok, then it is ok for me.

Here's the information they sent me...
Greetings,
Your application has been processed and your first 2 week supply of Huggies Ultratrim Step 4 diapers is scheduled for shipping on 09/28/00. To avoid shipping delays, please pay amount due by 09/21/00.
You may send check or money order to:
Diapers For Free
3945 S. Illinois St.
Chandler, AZ 85248
Or submit payment by credit card via the Internet:
We have signed up with Payme.com.
I went ahead and sent payment today... I'll let you know IF I ever hear from them again. They also claim that they pay $15 per referal and give away $25 daily in a random drawing. I sure hope this is valid or I'm screwed.

I also received that confirmation letter. I will also go ahead and sign up for the one year membership for $99.95. What I also did was talk to my credit card company...and they said that they will refund any fraud even if funds go thru http://www.payme.com. I hope all goes well without any hiccups!

Well Maggie I notice who posts good deals and you seem to find a lot of them. Let us know how it goes. We had our baby about a week apart as I recall.
BTW I think you guys are right. I went home and looked and saw that the packages of diapers I have been buying were not labeled mega packs. I forget what they said but they only have 80 diapers for the level 2 size (20lb baby).
MaggieOK
09-19-2000, 10:30 PM
80 diapers in size 2 is a jumbo pack, not a mega pack.
Jumbo pack = 2 standard sized packs
Mega pack = 3 or 4 standard sized packs, haven't quite figured that one out yet.

My daughter started out in Pampers...there came a time those didn't fit right & they leaked...we switched to huggies...there came a time when they didn't fit right & leaked so we went back to Pampers. We had Pampers all the way up to full potty training a few weeks ago YIPPPEEE!!! My alert is BE CAREFUL!! Your kids OFTEN will grow out of a diaper & you will have to switch brands. So if you can't get your money back, don't do it. You'll be stuck with diapers that leak & don't fit right. Just a warning :)

This sounds like a total scam. They require that you send them money upfront and they don't accept credit cards. Gives people no recourse to stop payment. Don't like doing business like that.

Okay, I have one question. In the beginning they stated they accepted payment through another service, I think payme.com instead of paypal. Payment is still pending because they have yet to accept the payment. Anyway, did anyone pay through payme.com? They stated they accept paypal only after they raised the price and redesigned the site.

Hi everyone,
I have been watching the diapers website carefully because I know of a lot of people that would love to get on this deal.
The only reason I haven't posted on our website is because the diapersforfree.com website says they aren't shipping any diapers due to shipping problems that need to be worked out with their shipper/supplier.
