OK here's the dealio: I just got the Plexwriter 12/10/32 (woo hoo) and I cant' get it to work. Here's the setup: I have Windows 2000 running on an Asus K7V mobo, on the primary IDE i have a master and slave HD, and on the secondary IDE I have the Plexwriter set as master (It's the only device on the secondary IDE). In My Computer, it doesn't recognize the CD-R, but it does in the device manager. In the device manager it has the yellow exclamation point and the following message:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

I have switched jumpers, tried all kinds of configurations, checked the Plextor Website, nothing seems to work. Help!!!!!

Hardware and connection wise sounds like you're fine since it shows up under device manager. That yeller exclamation mark most likely means the correct drivers are not installed. Sooooo, you need to get the right drivers for this drive and for wintookay. You may also have to do a firmware update the cd-r drive. Hopefully this part of plextor's site will help you: http://www.plextor.com/english/support/support_downloads.html#firm If not go ahead and try to contact them about drivers for wintookay.

Make sure that you get the latest aspi drivers, or you won't be able to burn stuff. You should be able to download that from plextor's site. Might even be in the update.
