EVGA, a well-known supplier of graphics cards, has unveiled its new series of graphics cards that will offer users best in-class performance and will come with signatures of EVGA’s executives.

The first product in the Signature-series is based on Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT graphics processor, but comes clocked at extreme speeds of 600MHz for the chip and 1600MHz for the memory. The GeForce 7900 GT product features 24 pixel processors, 8 vertex shader processors, Nvidia recommends the chip to be clocked at 450MHz and the memory to operate at 1320MHz.

The original Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT is targeted at sub-$300 market, but EVGA’s Signature GeForce 7900 GT has recommended price of $399. But performance offered by the board may be very close to that of the GeForce 7900 GTX, which has manufacturer suggested retail price of $499.

Additionally, Signature series graphics cards feature a collector’s edition package, priority customer service and are put through a longer and more diverse testing process under EVGA’s rigorous standards in addition to many other benefits, such as a free game from a selection of games offered by EVGA in 2006.

All Signature graphics boards come signed by the vice president of sales, IT director and test lab manager.

And the price tag ?

Recommended price of $399.

(In other words, priced more like the 7900GTX).

$399? ... they had it right with the targetted sub-300 dollar range, that I'd be willing to shell out, but honestly if I'm already dishing out 400 bucks, I'm likely going to go ahead and go for the 500 dollar one... good idea, bad price...

They are just putting out cards that are clocked like the volt modded 7900GT. The gpu is the exact same as the 7900GTX and people have been getting better clocks than that $400 card.
I'm planning to grab an accelero cooler (when they make one to fit the 7900GT) and volt mod my $280 eVGA 7900GT to hit those speeds.

Quite nice. Im looking into a 7900GTX IF I do proceed to build another system, my x800xt pe & pr 3ghz/2gb ram should do me for a while though, id almost rather invest in a laptop.
