Found a press release (http://www.wendys-invest.com/ne/wen051005freefrosty.php) on the Wendy's website for the 2005 Free Frosty Weekend. They obliquely refer to the 'fraudulent finger-in-the-chili' incident as the reason for doing it. No 2006 press releases.

Perhaps someone jumped the gun and thought it was going to be an annual event??

I stopped by Wendy's this afternoon and when we asked about the free frosty deal...the clerk didn't know what we were talking about, and as we explained...it became clear that she wasn't fluent in our native tongue; however, she was very nice...and apparently though we were saying we wanted three (not free) frostys along with our meals...which she gave to us for free anyway. I'm not sure how she pulled three from free...especially because there were only two of us. Anyway...they tasted very good. Thank you.

I love Frosty's, but not the calories...the Jr one is ok I guess:

Wendy's Frosty (junior) 170 calories
Wendy's Frosty (small) 330 calories
Wendy's Frosty (medium) 440 calories
Wendy's Frosty (large) 540 calories

Same with me, our local Wendy's didn't know what I was talking about, I got a kids meal for my kid and a Frosty anyway.
