Has anyone else signed up for a program called BzzAgent? Basically, it's a test group that run these "campaigns" for companies to have people try out products and then give their opinions on them.(you get emails and then sign up for the stuff).I didn't think much of it when I signed up but I am SHOCKED at the stuff they have been sending me..First I started out with coupons for Arby's food..which was nice and handy to give to the kid who cut my grass for me a few weeks ago (besides the money I paid him), then they sent me a Scrubbing bubbles automatic shower cleaner (30 dollar value), then it was Ralph Lauren "HOT" (65 dollar value on that one), and then SECRETS OF THE CODE (book)..the newest campaign is for Hershey take 5 bars, and they sent me like 25 bars..which I can't eat but will be happy to give to the neighborhood kids as long as they stay out of my flower beds..lol..It kind of reminds me of the old days of Freebie finds when distributors were giving away travel fridges and 100 dollar gift cards..It's kinda fun. Plus with each campaign you get points for prizes..I love this thingy! It's interesting to see what the newest stuff is..does anyone else do this program? If so, what have you tested out? I'm not looking for referals, just wondering if anyone else does the program.

oh hey obby!! I'm in something like this. but I go through another company. It's called pinecone research. they pay 5 bucks for each product you test, and you get to keep the product. you should be careful tho, companies like these have strict rules about not mentioning the new product to anybody else. I've heard stories that people have gotten sued because of telling others of the product. BzzAgent might be different...but I know for sure I can get in a lot of legal trouble with pinecone if I tell you about products. just a heads up.

We actually studied BzzAgent. It's basically a word of mouth markeitng program, as opposed to a product testing program. They send stuff to people who have large social networks expecting that they start talking about the product and generating "buzz".

I'm with both BzzAgent and Pinecone and although Bzz sends me more stuff, I like the real live $$ that Pinecone sends more.

I went to the site and read about it. Sounds like you have to do a lot of work. What do you all do to get stuff? How much work is it really?

It's the least amount of work I've ever had to do LOL..
they send you an email to sign up for campaigns..or if you're lucky, you can find them right on the websight along with surveys -you get points from the surveys and points for trying out the products..then you can cash the points in for stuff..some of it is cool, some of it is crap. All you do is open your email, click the link, and follow the click throughs till your signed up for the product..my gosh.Even simple for me :)

Sounds like a no-lose deal, which makes me kinda skeptical. Is there an easy way out? Do you have to give any financial info (credit cards, etc?)

I put those out at work, and they were gobbled down in a day. :)
I like the bottled water. Pretty cool design...

I'm still not sure about this... do you have to do any signing up or do they just send stuff after you are an agent?

There are Bzz Campaigns you must join. You only do the ones you want which, I think, is pretty cool. I did the candy bar one (I LOVE Take 5's) and the water one (oddly shaped 'pods' of water... aimed at kids). Not only did they send free bottles of water, but a coupon for a free 8 pack of them...and more $$ off coupons to share with friends.
Bzz has several ways to earn points... surveys, Bzz Campaigns, reports on Campaigns etc.
If you have more questions, fire away! :)

Do you have to give them credit card info or other financial stuff? There usually is no free lunch...

I've only ever given them my name/address so that they can send me stuff. No CC info. :)

I've been a BzzAgent for the past three or so years, No cc. The only thing you have to do is tell them about the bzz that you generate, tis all. Not a scam. I am a huge fan of Bzz and Pinecone.

Pinecone is one of the hardest ones to get in on. Every now and again they put up a banner asking for a certain type of person, based on age, sex, location etc. If you fit that breakdown, you click the banner, fill out the rest of the info and then you can start earning your $5 checks! :)
The hard part is stumbling upon the banners.

Pinecone is Awsome. I go in during the internet boom before they were being so selective. Cash for surveys is the best.

I gave up on pinecone. Their surveys are WAY too long and redundant. 15-20 mins of my time is worth more than $5.

As the name implies, the value you are creating for the company that makes the product you are sent is creating 'buzz' . . . it's incredibly valuable to a company. They will HAPPILY send you free samples if you will get the word out about the product . . . a hell of a lot more valuable than traditional advertising.
They're not looking to scam you . . . they don't want your money . . . they want your endorsement . . . they're looking to you as a means to expand awareness and positive views of the products - that's all.
