I'm sorry. You accept my order...and can't find a florist...in SAN DIEGO?! Right...I'm sure there are no florists...in SAN DIEGO!!! Last year Flowers.com screwed up my friend's mother's day order...and they made the situation right by giving him $80 in gift certificates. Yet FTD somehow thinks that a $15 off coupon that will only last 2 weeks is enough? I don't think so. However...I am going to post this coupon on the deals page and hope that people abuse it and cost FTD a good amount. I also hope that everyone has a better experience with FTD than I had.

It would be so cool if this happens - talk about a community pulling together for each other. :)

ok, I know it's easy for some of you guys to just point and click and order away-but this is what happens when you take the chance with stuff like sending flowers off of a websight. Seriously Prominx, next time you wanna send your mom some long distance flowers, go to a local florist and ORDER THEM IN PERSON. That's the fastest and safest way to FTD flowers you know. You order, you pay, and THEY CONTACT a florist in the area where you need them sent. Any discrepancies and THEY refund your money, and make good on the order..much simpler than ordering online and saying OOPS later on. It's just so much better to make the effort to do the ordering in person.

This story is all over the news broadcasts tonight....many flower delivery places are totally overwhelmed today...many saying they won't get the deliveries done until Tuesday.
This was not just for the web based companies, but those that take telephone orders as well.

is this the norm? hell, it's Mother's Day. why aren't they prepared?
flower shortage or what?
I ordered from FTD.com on Wednesday morning to deliver to mom (back in Joisey), and she got them on Friday. I've only ordered from FTD.com twice and the flowers arrived on time and in wonderful condition.

my wife used to work at a florist. the problem is that you can only do a certain amount of the work ahead of time.

:stupid:
I had a job at one during school. They make all their money on about 10 days out of the year; the other 355 they don't do much. Those 10 days though...let's just say it's hectic.
You plan out your orders, hire temporary staff (very hard to do when you only need folks for a day or two), and hope that you've bought enough flowers to cover your orders (again, tough to do. Don't want to be left with excess inventory that dies within a week).
Sorry to hear your order was cancelled. That shouldn't happen; someone in SD should be able to fill the order. But not every florist is waiting for the phone to ring, ready to fill your order on a whim during these holidays.

I ordered for Mom and my wife on Friday from Proflowers and both were delivered on Saturday, as expected. Aside from flowers dying quickly once (they refunded the cost and redelivered) they've never disappointed. Quality flora and service.

My Mom's birthday was last Wednesday. Mom got a very nice spring bouquet of lillies and apparently the local florist put in a bit more because they knew who my Mom was (she just retired after working at the local hospital for 20 years). :)
Sorry to hear about you bouquet Prominx. :(
last year i had flowers delivered to my mom's work and they arrived half dead ....they were already starting to look brown around the edges .....so i called and they sent out a new bouquet the very next day and also gave me a coupon for like $20 off .......that was nice.
i think they should've just delivered the flowers and added a little extra instead of just saying .....sorry we couldn't deliver, here's your money & a coupon
