Figured I would post this here so it would get more exposure. Skype out is now free for calls to the USA and canada.
Just used it to call a few friends without purchasing any credits, awesome!!
(skype is a voip service that was just bought by ebay for those who dont know)

It says "until the end of the year" though...so looks like the free offer ends in December I would assume.
Still...that's pretty sweet.
not working for me ... it says i need to purchase skypeout minutes ... am i missing something?

there is problems with that sector of ips it seems

I got that message too, but then I just kept going anyways...
Ignore the message and just dial your number anyways.... + 1 xxx xxx xxxx It might work.

Beware Skyping at work. Apparently if you're on a high enough speed connection, it turns you into a little network hub for the world's conversations. As much fun as routing several hundred megabits of chatter per second is, your network admin (me @ my job) is coming up behind you at this very moment to hit you with a chair.

i am using it on my laptop which I only open to place calls at the moment. viva la bluetooth headset for my desktop though :)

Yeah...I've left mine running for the past day. Gonna shut it down tonight when I get home and only open it when I actually need to use it.

Anyone using SkypeIn? I am going to set up a website with a phone number to call, and want people to leave voicemail for me to call them back. I thought it would be best to use a SkypeIn number for this. However, I have been unable to open the page:

Took me long enough to remember my password though.
A friend got a SkypeIn Florida area code number while she's in Israel. I haven't myself called her but she says it works really well.
