i love wierd mail.....

Got the mail today. Inside was a letter marked confidential from Sacred Heart University in connecticut. I said hmm wonder what this could be.

Apparently their computer servers with peoples names and socials were hacked and my name and social may have been stolen.

I never applied to sacred heart, never sent and application to sacred heart, never wanted to go to sacred heart, but yet they have my name and social? Thats...safe....


So I call them up all in a huff and have the woman check my social thats on file. Thank god it was not the real numbers because then I would have really been pissed.

In conclusion I think SS numbers are thrown around like wild fire now a days and there is no stopping them getting stolen.

nope it was actually from sacred heart and I called the college directly and verified it

i looked up the number to call, it was the same number as on the mailing, the mailing was also on sacred heart stationary.

The business school @ UT recently had all it's info stolen as well. They posted some instructions on how to place a fraud alert with the major credit bureaus. If you're interested in doing so, here is the link:
