No, as a matter of fact it's the older v8, basically the same as the olds 215 and the v8 they put in TR-8 and some TVRs. The 215 V-8 was the origin of the V-6. They just removed two cylinders, shortened everything and put in longer stroke rods to make up the CC difference.
Fine little engine. Pretty easy to get over 300 hp out of it. I have to admit the V-6 is a far better engine with cheaper parts and you can dig out more torque and hp from them. One cool thing about the V-8 is that aluminum Olds 340 heads bolt right on.

Which is okay, because my car was reasonably fast in the first place. New mod, btw - Kumho 712 245/17s in the back and 225/17s in the front. A little loud, but nice and grippy on the turns.

'85 Porsche 944 n/a
Bursch muffler Bilstein shocks and springs (no coil-overs yet) K&N air filter Momo wheel Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs Short shift kit 17x7 and 17x8 wheels (originally from a 911) NEW! Kumho 712 225/17s and 245/17s It came to me with the Momo wheel (don't ask me why), everything else I added. It doesn't accelerate the way my roommate's Camaro Z28 does, but it corners and handles SOOO much better. I can live with it until I get the money for a serious Porsche. ![]() |

Hey, katmai, where'd you get the Mikuni setup for the 215? What kind of intake are you using?

![]() Consider I already lower my car. It seems that coilover is the only solution. |

My 1980 Toyota 4x4 has four cam lobes visibly flatter than the others, a dime-sized hole in the exhaust downpipe, another hole in the dash where the stereo used to be, a right front spring so sagged that it sits on the bumpstop at rest, Rancho RS9000 shocks in front (yes, I know - irony), 8-year-old CATs (cheap ass tires), a Grant 3-spoke steering wheel, a custom driveshaft made from 1-ton Chevy parts, a tranny that barely shifts into 1st gear, and custom carpet-remnant floor mats!

Dodo- What you need is some nice 19" or 20" rims. Those 17's? Look very tiny in your wheel well. That's like putting 14's on a Civic. Buy some 19's or 20's, then slam it to the ground with Tein HA's.

I forgot to mention low profile tires. Those are too thick man. Ya need some rubber bands and some giant wheels!

Those are Racing Hart C5 18x8.5 with 245/40/18 Bridgestone S-02. I have lowered 1.25" by Eibach/Bilstein combo and yet the gap is still too much. I plan to upgrade to TEIN HA coilover at the end of this year if possible. Before that, I will get TRD f/r sway bars.

Emoo? Hehehe. I don't know if you wanna be Leon's friend though.
Uh. Did you put in the deposit yet? Jun forgot my cam gears so that other thing you wanted might come with my gears. The cams, retainers, and springs are here though. |
