I went to test out my mod GS430's 0 - 60 today with couple friends of mine. The trans was so smooth that I didn't realize I had reached 80 mph. The feeling is totally different in 328 and M3. In '96 328, I actually felt a little force pushed me back into the seat. In '97 M3, man, it just blew my mind off. He dropped the clutch (though it hurts the transmission) and the car just shot out like an lightning arror.

sounds cool, for a car.

my [stock] bike will still blow the mufflers off [almost] any car in the 1/4 mile.

still trying to save money for a stage 4 jet kit and an artermarket muffler (maybe a Brothers)

You are confusing me, hapoo. Don't you already have a M3? You meant you want to buy the 2001 M3, 0 - 60 in 4.6 seconds. Crazy man, I'm telling you.

Ah, I know M3 is your dream car but didn't know if you own it or not. You can sign up for new M3 now and sell the slot later on ebay. =)

Bah! You guys shoot so low. Porsche: there is no substitute. Those pathetic grocery haulers you guys like to think of as sports cars quiver like 2 day old jello in its wake. Now THAT'S a vehicle to aspire to!

You want my 0-60? I think my speedy Durango does it in...hmm, I'd like to say 9 sec, but that may be a little optimistic

Then again, I can tow both your GS AND your wannabe luxury car, hapoop (although I have no idea why I'd want to [snort of derision])

porsche's are nice but they're way too small. I want a car that goes fast and can actually fit more than 2 people in it. Porsche's arn't very practical cars.

You can sign up for the new M3 now and they probably won't have it 'til 2003, 2004. Meanwhile if you win lotto, you buy the car, if not, just sell the slot and get some extra cash.

I hate Porsche's exhaust, high frequency. I like deeper tune better. As hapoo pointed out, Porsche is way too small, specially I'm 6'2.

GS430 is a performance sedan and I think it has served its title perfectly. If I want a sporty car, I'll get a Dinan supercharger M3 (in my dream maybe).

How fast 0 - 60 do you think you can beat my GS? If it only has less than half tank, GS could go in 5.0 seconds tested by G-Tech. 0.1 second slower than M5 but it's automatic and plus the most drivers couldn't achieve 4.9 seconds. Go figure.

Heathens! Philestines!

Oh, it's too small. IT'S A SPORTS CAR!! Lord-ee, it's like you're actually looking forward to the time when your combing your hair over and your back hurts for five days after a game of pick-up! Yeesh!

And by the way, Porsches fit me just fine, and I'm 6'2"...I don't know what you guys are doing, but I don't use my car to transport cargo very often...

Gotta agree with pennypinch, the new M3 may do 0-60 in 4.6, but the new 996 Turbo does it in 3.9 without options or mods. And I'm 6'1" and I'm perfectly comfortable in my 944. Although somebody had to tell me what those things in the back were.

"Those are what? Seats? For what?"

"Umm, I think you can use them for small children or something..."

"Only if they were born about 10 months premature or have no legs! Can't I just take them out?"

"You could, but it won't increase the amount of room in the car at all, and it'll just look ugly."

"#@*&^_@$)(^*&+@!!!"

The M3 does 4.6 without mods too Vertigo.
I'd just rather go fast with my friends than alone, plus BMW's are in my blood, I can't help it if I love them.

And I may have a Porsche, but I paid $2000 for it. Plus, I had to rework the whole cooling system myself because I couldn't afford to pay the mechanic to do that after installing a totally new suspension.

I'm still wondering what that small pile of leftover parts used to do...

Well I have an 82 Cadi Deville that does 0-60 in about 2.3 .....................minutes that is.

But I also have a 78 Chevy Malibu with a 400sb thats pretty swift but has never been timed.

I sat in my friend's Cadi Deville. It's one powerful car. Great acceleration but it can't cut the corner.

Just go to your local BMW dealer and pay at least $500 deposit.

But with some dealers the deposit only buys you a slot. With others, the deposit buys you a slot and they promise not to charge you over sticker.
